Walkers risk injury at Ronaldsway

by isleofman.com 14th January 2009
There are concerns for the safety of walkers who are continuing to use the coastal footpath at Ronaldsway Airport, even though the section is officially closed, while the runway extension work is carried out.

Contractors Balfour Beatty say people have even been removing the tape which has been put in place to make the closure more obvious.

They say heavy plant machinery is now being used in the area and somebody could get hurt.

Noticeboards giving details of the work and the area closed off are in place by the Flying Club at Derbyhaven and at the Kniveton Quarry.

The path at Ronaldsway will be closed for 12 months and will re-opn when the work has been completed.
