Corinthians hit seven again

by isleofman.com 12th January 2009
Corinthians maintained their perfect start to the Sure Mobile Floodlit Cup with another seven-goal demolition yesterday.

They beat Laxey 7-0 having disposed of Peel 7-1 a week earlier.

Jade Burden led the way with a hat-trick and there were also goals for Sarah Kerford, Stephanie Hall, Anna Quayle and Helen Thomas.

The Noble's Park outfit are top of group A with three wins as they look to retain the trophy.

In yesterday's other match to go ahead Rushen made it two wins out of two in group B.

They beat Douglas Royal 3-0 courtesy of a brace from Eleanor Gawne and one from Donna Harrison.

The southerners now top the group ahead of Royals on goal difference.

Gymns had been due to face Castletown at Castle Rushen High School's astroturf pitch but the game was postponed due to the bad weather.
