Manxies strong at Revolution

by isleofman.com 12th January 2009
There were strong performances from the Manx cyclists competing in the Revolution event at Manchester Velodrome on Saturday night.

Peter Kennaugh (pictured) continued his recent good form, coming second in the 10km points race.

He won one of the sprints and crossed the line first but narrowly missed out to Chris Newton on points.

Mark Christian came 13th.

In the 10km scratch Kennaugh was third and Christian seventh and they came sixth and seventh respectively in the devil-scratch.

The two head off to China next to compete in the World Track Cup in Beijing this coming weekend.

In the Madison Kennaugh rides with Great Britain team mate Rob Hayles and Christian partners Luke Rowe in 100% ME colours.

Meanwhile Chris Nicholson consolidated second place in the Future Stars overall standings.

He was fifth in the 5km scratch and points races and seventh in the six lap dash.

The North West team, who Chris rides for at the Revolution events, hold a commanding lead at the top of the Region Points Table
