Over 33,000 'emergency events' in 2008

Last year was another busy one for the Isle of Man Emergency Services Joint Control Room.

It handled an average of fifty 999 calls a day and the total of 17,340 was over eight per cent higher than in 2007.

ESJCR also dealt with more emergency events in 2008 than the previous year, the total being 33,277.
