MNH looks for material for exhibition

by isleofman.com 10th January 2009
The 50th anniversary of Honda at the TT will be marked with an exhibition at the Manx Museum this summer, and your help is needed.

'The Golden Age 1959-1967’, will include early Honda memorabilia, recollections of Japanese riders and mechanics who came here in the 1960s, and film highlights.

Anybody with memories of the first Honda team, which stayed at the Nursery Hotel in Onchan in 1959, is invited to share them with Manx National Heritage.

MNH is also interested in any photographs or even souvenirs given away by the Japanese mechanics in the pits.

Social History Curator Matthew Richardson can be contacted by email at matthew.richardson@gov.im or by ringing 648000.
