Action on pier needed now - Gawne

The latest report into the future of Ramsey's Queen's Pier has come up with three possible scenarios.

A working group, chaired by Rushen MHK Phil Gawne, suggests the Victorian structure should either be refurbished by government, refurbished as part of a private sector marina development or demolished.

Mr Gawne (pictured) says the group didn't want to go back to Tynwald with a report which couldn't be endorsed, as it felt action was needed now, one way or another.

He is also dismissing any suggestion his committee hasn't progressed the issue:
