Pier decision to be made at last?

The future of the Queen's Pier in Ramsey remains uncertain but could be finally determined later this month.

A report by a Council of Ministers group has drawn back from making a single, clear recommendation.

Instead the report - to be put to Tynwald this month - outlines three options.

Refurbish the pier as part of a marina development in Ramsey Bay; restore the pier as a new government project or demolish the structure.

Michael Tramontana from the Friends of Queen's Pier campaign group is disappointed the third option - to scrap the pier - was included in the recommendations (audio file attached):
