Choir visit jeopardised

The closure of the Grand Island Hotel in Ramsey next month could threaten the Isle of Man's 35 year link with a choir from the north west of England.

The Broughton Parish Church choir has travelled over every year since 1973, to give the young singers a week of musical training.

Organisers consider the Island an ideal venue, with the range of activities available to the boys while they are here.

But this year's visit is in jeopardy because the choir was booked to stay at the Grand Island, and it will close next month.

Unless alternative accommodation can be found in the next few weeks, the holiday course will be taken elsewhere.

Choirmaster John Catterill says there are certain requirements for the party of visitors (play attached audio file):
