Steam Packet expects further problems

by isleofman.com 9th January 2009
There is likely to be more disruption for ferry passengers this weekend.

The Ben-my-Chree is going into dry dock tomorrow and the Viking is due to take over the sailings - going to Heysham instead of Liverpool.

However, deteriorating weather is forecast and the Steam Packet is suggesting services may be cancelled.

A statement on the company's website says there is a severe weather warning in operation and disruption is likely this Saturday, January 10.

The weather system is being closely monitored and has been changing over the last few hours. An update on Saturday’s sailings will be issued by 10.00am tomorrow.

There is a strong likelihood that sailings on Sunday 11 January will be cancelled.
