Safety initiative at northern schools

Police in the north of the Island are cracking down on illegal parking and speeding around schools.

The Northern Neighbourhood Policing Team are carrying out patrols to make sure pupils arrive and leave safely.

Sergeant Juan Clague says parents at Dhoon School sometimes drive on the wrong side of the road in order to park in a lay-by, causing delays for other drivers.

He says there are number of ideas for improving the situation:
