Corinthians crush Peel in Floodlit Cup

by isleofman.com 7th January 2009
Corinthians made it two wins out of two in Group A of the Sure Mobile Women's Floodlit Cup yesterday.

They claimed a comfortable 7-1 victory over previously-unbeaten Peel thanks to four goals from Leonie Roberts and one each from Jade Burden, Sarah Kerford and Sarah O'Reilly.

The Westerners' response came via an own goal.

The result lifted the Noble's Park outfit above Peel at the top of the group on goal difference.

In yesterday's other Group A game Laxey got their floodlit campaign off to a good start, beating Ramsey 5-1.

Christina Sutton bagged a brace and there were also strikes from Rhiannon Brew, Sarah Houghton and Kerry Lockwood.
