Island bids to win Atlantic friends

The Manx government has been to America again to promote the Island as a finance centre and space commerce hub.

A delegation from the Treasury led by Alex Downie MLC (pictured) visited NASA and Google in California before heading to Washington to host a dinner.

The first part of the trip saw representatives meeting teams from the private sector hoping to land on the moon to claim the Google Lunar X Prize of $20 million.

Mr Downie says it’s important for the Island to win as many friends as possible across the Atlantic (audio file attached):
