Fund raisers prepare to take the plunge!

As half the population recover from their New Year hang-overs, several groups of hardy souls around the Island will be braving the surf in aid of charity today.

The traditional January 1 dips are taking place at several venues, including Peel, Laxey, Castletown and Port St Mary.

Organiser of the well-established Peel dip Christine Eames says around 280 forms have been sent out to potential dippers in the west, and she is hoping for a good turn-out to support the worthy causes (play attached audio file):
