Dippers support road accident victim

A large number of intrepid swimmers will take to the sea tomorrow, in the traditional New Year's Day dips.

Those in the south of the Island will be raising money for road accident victim Chris Walmsley, to help his wife and family visit him while he continues to receive intensive care at Bury in Lancashire.

The dippers will be jumping into the water at three locations in Port St Mary and one in Port Erin.

Leader of the Southern Dippers Lenny Conroy says it's always a popular event (play attached audio file):
