Chairman is proud of MNH achievements

by isleofman.com 31st December 2008
The chairman of Manx National Heritage believes the history and culture of the Isle of Man are now well documented and displayed for future generations.

Martin Moore, who became a trustee of Manx National Heritage in 1982 and chairman in 2000, was speaking after being awarded the MBE in the Queen's New Year honours list.

He says he's proud of the work done by MNH at sites around the Island, since the organisation took them over from the former Government Property Trustees (play attached audio file):

Geoff Karran has also been awarded the MBE for his contribution to sport and disabled people in the Isle of Man.

Mr Karran is executive chairman of the Sports Council and was instrumental in the development of the Project 21 Centre, a sport and recreation facility for people with learning difficulties, which opened in Greenfield Road, Douglas last year.
