Bishop's message highlights relationships

by isleofman.com 31st December 2008
The Bishop highlights the importance of relationships in his New Year message to the people of the Isle of Man.

Bishop Robert (pictured) stresses their value, both with other people and with God.

New Year is traditionally a time to make a fresh start and he makes this suggestion:

"Perhaps to take relationships more seriously, generally.

"The Island's relationships beyond itself, people's relationships with one and other - because those are the most important relationships of all - and, as a Christian, I'd want to say also human relationships with God.

"The most important thing, it seems to me, is that a new year gives us an opportunity to be of use to somebody else, other than ourselves.

"If we can do that, if we can make that kind of resolution, then at least we are not doing too badly."
