Manx based e-gaming firm PokerStars has broken its own world record for the largest ever online poker tournament.

The company - based in King Edward Road, Onchan - attracted 35,000 players for the contest, easily beating the previous record of 20,000 it set last year.

During the event, held on Sunday, one player managed to beat the other 34,999 to win $30,000.

The tournament sold out in advance and went on for more than nine hours.
