FSC warns of bogus website

by isleofman.com 28th December 2008
There's a warning about a bogus website claiming to represent Thomas Miller Investment (Isle of Man) Ltd.

The Financial Supervision Commission says it looks like the site has been set up to con people out their money.

It adds both the web address, thomashyipinvest.com, and two email addresses given as contacts on it have absolutely nothing to do with the real Thomas Miller firm.

If you've already had dealings with this site you're urged to contact the Enforcement Division on 689315 or email fsc@gov.im

The phony site is, apart from the odd spelling mistake, reasonably convincing and contains all the information you'd expect, even having the real firm's FSC registration details on it.

It also has so-called "testimonies" from clients such as Liza Harrison, who describes her decision to invest as the second greatest of her life and an Edward Lee, who thanks the firm for making him a multi-millionaire within 90 days.
