Flu increase warning

An increase in flu in the Island could cause problems for the elderly, who can be hospitalised by the virus.

Dr Colin Garvey of the Palatine Group Practice is urging the Manx public to make regular checks on elderly relatives and neighbours.

This week it was revealed flu in the UK has increased by 75 per cent this winter - a figure which is comparable to cases on the Isle of Man.

But Dr Garvey says everyone can help themselves overcome flu with a few simple remedies (audio file attached):
