Pension proposals driving doctors away

by isleofman.com 27th December 2008
Doctors are already leaving the Isle of Man, to avoid possible changes to public service pensions, according to a local GP.

Dr Colin Garvey from the Palatine Group Practice says the proposed
amendments would see doctors on the Island working longer for a smaller pension.

Tynwald will decide in January whether to bring in the new scheme.

Dr Garvey is warning more GPs could be driven from the Island if it's given parliamentary approval: (audio clip attached)
