Conserving the Island's wildlife

by isleofman.com 24th December 2008
The minister for agriculture has presented his vision for the conservation of wildlife in the Isle of Man.

Phil Gawne explained how he saw the future in a presentation to members of the Manx Wildlife Trust.

The talk was entitled 'The Way Forward for Wildlife' and Mr Gawne asked members and other wildlife enthusiasts for their help and support in making sure planned strategies were carried out.

He said climate change, population growth and commercial interests all had an effect, and a better understanding was needed of all three, so the Island could remain wildlife rich and beautiful.

Mr Gawne urged all parties to work together, to ensure the conservation of the Island's natural heritage and biodiversity.
