Harris continues comeback

by isleofman.com 23rd December 2008
Two-time TT winner Shaun Harris continued his comeback at the weekend.

The Kiwi rider was racing his Triumph 675 in the 600cc sports production race in the opening round of the New Zealand ProMoto Tri-Series at Manfeild, near Palmerston North, on Saturday.

But the 44-year-old rider's emotions got the better of him, his eyes welled with tears and he had to head into the pits.

When the rain came down he didn't risk going back out again.

Next up for Harris is the traditional Boxing Day road racing event in Wanganui on the Cemetery Circuit, which coincidentally is dubbed the Southern Hemisphere’s Isle of Man.

He's aiming to return to the TT next year.

Harris was seriously injured in the 2007 TT Superstock race when he came off at Union Mills and has only recently started competing again.
