MEDS prepares for festive period

by isleofman.com 21st December 2008
Think carefully before going to Accident and Emergency for minor injuries and illnesses - that's the reminder issued by the Department of Health and Social Security today.

The Manx Emergency Doctors' Service (MEDS) is also situated at Noble's Hospital and operates overnight to provide urgent appointments with a GP.

MEDS operates a helpline from which you can receive advice and arrange appointments.

Clinical Leader of MEDS, Richard Hanks, says patients who want to be treated at home will need to prove they can't make it to the Hospital (audio file attached):

The MEDS helpline is 650355.
