KSF depositor says 'sign our petition'

by isleofman.com 20th December 2008
A depositor with the collapsed Kaupthing bank in the Isle of Man is urging local residents to sign a petition on the Downing Street website.

The petitioners are demanding answers, following the freezing of ?550 million of the bank's assets in the United Kingdom.

Alastair Lees is one of many depositors claiming a secret court order was used to hold the money in the UK.

The petitioners are calling for court papers on the affair to be made public and are arguing the key to the solvency of KSF Isle of Man is the release of the funds.

Mr Lees wants as many Isle of Man residents as possible to add their names to the list (play attached audio file):

There are currently over 300 names on the petition, and the closing date for signing is April 16, 2009.
