Wrestler Khan't be Manx!

by isleofman.com 20th December 2008
A female competitor on the American Total Nonstop Action Wrestling circuit is making a bizarre claim to come from the Isle of Man.

Trenesha Biggers, who fights under the alias "Rhaka Khan", is announced as hailing from the Island as she enters the ring.

It turns out she actually comes from Champaign, Illinois but the wrestling website pwtorch.com can't explain why she claims to be of Manx birth.

To avoid confusion among its readers, pwtorch.com assures them the Isle of Man is a real place, accurately describing it as "a small Island located in the British Isles".

The site goes on to say: "if you're interested in people who are really from the Isle of Man, the most famous have to be Barry, Maurice, and Robin Gibb, better known as the Bee Gees".

"Rhaka Khan" is named after the American singer Chaka Khan.
