Minister talks about pension changes

The minister for health and social security says reform of the state pension in the Isle of Man is necessary because people are living longer.

Eddie Teare has been speaking on Manx Radio, after members of Tynwald were briefed on planned changes.

The idea is to bring in a simplified system and link payments with rises in average earnings.

On Talking Heads today Mr Teare said it was good news people were living longer, but increased provision had to be made:
