Capital remains preferred linkspan location

It looks as if any future linkspans would be built in Douglas Harbour, rather than anywhere else in the Island.

The probable location was clarified by transport minister David Anderson in the House of Keys today, in response to a question from Onchan MHK Peter Karran.

He asked the minister to look into the feasibility and approximate cost of building a linkspan in either Douglas or another Manx port, with the use of the resultant facility being outside the scope of the Steam Packet User Agreement.

Mr Anderson (pictured) told members a DoT plan from 2003, which recommended the Outer Harbour at Douglas as the preferred site, still stood:
