Douglas back to winning ways

by isleofman.com 30th November 2008
Douglas claimed the honours in South Lancashire/Cheshire Division Two with a 17-3 win over Crewe and Nantwich at Port-e-Chee.

Two Bryn Snellgrove penalties got Douglas underway early on but the visitors hit back with a penalty of their own, courtesy of full back Joe Booth, leaving the game finely balanced at 6-3 at half-time.

Douglas took control in the second half when Peter Fisher went over for a try and Snellgrove put the game beyond any doubt with two late drop goals.

The match between Vagabonds and Ormskirk in Division One was postponed when fog meant Ormskirk were unable to fly to the Island – the same factor ensured Ramsey weren’t able to travel off-Island for their scheduled Division Four match at St Mary’s Old Boys.
