Police are appealing for witnesses after a motorist collided with another vehicle on Loch Promenade, narrowly missing people on a crossing.

It happened at 11:10am on Saturday when a black Audi Coupe car reversed onto the crossing and into Howard Street.

Police say the driver collided with an blue vehicle driven by a woman, just missing the pedestrains.

The man at the wheel of the Audi was arrested for a number of alleged offences and is currently helping police with their enquiries.

Officers are keen to speak to any witnesses, in particular the woman driving the blue car, or anybody who saw the Audi driver travelling around Douglas or on the Old Castletown Road.

If you have any information you can contact police on 631212.
