Unlucky 13 for Knighter

by isleofman.com 13th October 2008
David Knight couldn't transfer his US form to the Weston Beach Race at the weekend, finishing 13th in the solo race.

It was disappointing for the double GNCC Champion, who won the event the last time he competed two years ago and had travelled to Weston-super-Mare looking to claim the title again.

But it wasn't to be as 10-time World Motocross Champion Stefan Everts took the victory with recently-crowned MX2 British Champion Shaun Simpson second.

Knighter fared better in the quad event, coming home fourth.

Other Manx finishers in the solos were Adrian and Antony Smith in 188th and 189th, Gareth Quayle was 201st and Malcolm Kirk 390th out of a field of 930.

In the quads and sidecars Matt Thorpe was 44th overall, Tom Callister 55th, Mike Kerruish 95th, Aaron Curphey 108th, Stephen Ennett 111th, Paul Burnett 145th, Neil Kerruish 243rd, Team Quirk were 251st on their two-man quad, Will Duggan was 337th and Jamie Corkish 360th.
