Bank deal welcomed by FSC

The Financial Supervision Commission says today's move by the United Kingdom Treasury to shore up Bradford and Bingley is good news for the Isle of Man.

The Treasury said it’s business as usual, branches will be open as normal, and internet, call centre, and all other transaction services will operate normally.

Further, there have been debt guarantees by the UK government to make sure nobody loses out if the bank goes under.

Bradford and Bingley International, based in Douglas, has been included in the deal.

FSC Chief Executive John Aspden (Pictured) says the moves clear up uncertainty about the bank’s future:
