Mark Cavendish has completed a successful Tour of Missouri.

Although he was edged out of winning yesterday’s (Sunday) final stage - stage seven - the Laxey rider clinched the sprint crown after three stage wins overall.

Christian Vande Velde (USA), winner of Stage Three’s Individual Time Trial, was the overall winner after successfully maintaining an 18-second lead over Australian Michael Rogers from Cavendish’s team, Team Columbia.
