Peel win 'auld firm' clash

Peel bounced back from successive defeats to win the ‘auld firm’ clash at Croit Lowey on Saturday.

Goals from Callum Gallagher, Kevin Megson and Kerron Christian sealed an impressive 3-1 win at Rushen.

St Mary’s also won away from home but were nearly pegged back.

The Saints led 3-0 at Ramsey at half-time to all but win the match but a fight-back from the spirited home side saw them pull goals back through Danny Foulis and Darren Jones.

There was also an good away win for Old Boys who overcame a 2-1 half-time deficit to win 4-2 at Union Mills.

Gary Quirk, Robbie Ward, Callum Stewart and John Quirk were the scorers.

Sam Cain and Steven Halsall found the net for the Millers in the first half.

Corinthians notched their first victory of the season with a 2-1 home win over Colby.

Jamie Stoy and Steven Glover were the scorers with Ricky Kniveton finding the net for Colby, who were made to rue a missed penalty which could have earned them a point.

There was an eight-goal thriller at Tromode as two attacking minded teams, Gymns and Ayre, shared the points.

Luke Fisher (two), Johnny Cain and Ciaran McNulty were the home side’s scorers.
