Mark Higgins wins BRC; David retains lead

by isleofman.com 26th August 2008
Manx brothers Mark and David Higgins remain out in front at the top of the British Rally Championship standings.

Mark (pictured) and co-driver Rory Kennedy secured the fourth round of the BRC on Saturday – their third successive victory – by taking third place overall in the Ulster Rally, behind Eamonn Boland and Damien Morrissey as they sealed the Irish Tarmac Championship.

Kevin Lynch and Francis Regan were 32 seconds adrift in second, with Higgins in third.

Guy Wilks and David Moynihan were fourth (second in the BRC standings) and, while David Higgins and Ieuan Thomas had to settle for 10th in the race (fifth in the BRC standings), it was enough to keep them two points clear of brother Mark at the top of the British Rally Championship with Wilks a further four points behind.
