Milestone for Manx social history

A significant milestone for one of the Isle of Man's key tourist attractions will be celebrated this weekend.

Harry Kelly's Cottage in Cregneash was officially opened to the public 70 years ago this month.

It gives visitors a glimpse of what rural life on the Island was like in the 1800s.

This Sunday (Aug 24) crafts and trades of the period will be on display to mark the anniversary.

Curator of Social History for Manx National Heritage Yvonne Cresswell says when Harry Kelly died in the mid-1930s, his family donated his cottage to the museum.
