Chair exercises to improve mobility

by isleofman.com 19th August 2008
A chair-based workout aimed at older people continues its tour around the Island next week.

The classes - where the moves are made from the comfort of a chair - are safe and sociable and aim to improve fitness and mobility.

The Department of Health initiative was launched at Sandfield Residential Home in Castletown last week.

OAPs who took part said they had a ball.

There's a chance to get active in your armchair in Ramsey on Monday and on Wednesday in Peel.

Dawn Henley (pictured) from the Public Health Directorate is helping run the classes:

The sessions this week are on Monday (18th August) at Ramsey Town Hall (1st Floor) and Wednesday (20th August) at the Corrin Hall in Peel.

Both from 10 - 11 am.

All sessions are FREE and include refreshments, and an exercise booklet.
