Burglar tagged

by isleofman.com 8th August 2008
A 20-year-old man who admitted burglary has been ordered by the High Bailiff to be electronically tagged.

Paul Ellison, of Fairway Crescent, Santon, was also given 120 hours community service and placed on probation for two years.

The tag, with a 7pm to 7am curfew, is to last for four months.

Ellison and another defendant, who wasn't in court, burgled a house in Mount Bradda on July 11th and stole a bottle of rum.

Ellison was arrested as he hid in bushes nearby.

Advocate Peter Wood said his client had alcohol problems, had little recollection of what he'd done and pointed out the door to the house hadn't been forced as it was insecure.
