Grow your own fruit and veg!

Public demand for allotments is due to be discussed by Ramsey Commissioners at this evening's meeting, following receipt of a letter from a ratepayer.

Under the 1928 Allotments Act local authorities in the Isle of Man must make such facilities available, if they feel enough people want them.

Among other things board members will consider whether growing our own fruit and vegetables would help soften the impact of the credit crunch.

Andrew Millichap of the Isle of Man Permaculture Association believes if things keep going the way they are it will become necessary to do so:
