More help needed for visually impaired

Understanding the needs of blind or partially-sighted people in the Isle of Man is a key factor in being able to help them.

The Island's Royal National Insititute for the Blind works to help those with sight problems make more of the facilities and opportunities most people take for granted.

There are more than 400 blind or visually-impaired people here - but the Island is years behind the UK in improving their rights - through the Disability Discrimination Act.

The RNIB's Julie Lee says raising awareness is a priority:
