A former Chief Minister and a former Minister for Trade and Industry are among those who will give evidence at another public sitting of the MEA Select Committee tomorrow.
Following revelations from a former senior official at the Treasury, the Tynwald committee is concentrating on the MEA's apparent non-compliance with financial regulations, during a period of infra-structure renewal, from the early 90s.
Donald Gelling (pictured) and David North will be among five witnesses who will appear in the Millennium Room, in the legislative buidings, from 10.30am.
In May, former Chief Financial Officer at the Treasury, Mary Williams, explained how she first tried to force the MEA to obey financial regulations. Then, a Treasury direction failed when the Attorney General's office changed its mind over the legality of the move.
Mrs Williams claimed the DTI sided with the MEA throughout the difficulties and this morning former DTI Chief Executive Ken Bawden, and his successor Chris Corlett, will answer questions.
David North oversaw the MEA, as Minister for Trade and Industry from early 1997. Early on in his tenure a new Board was appointed and Mike Proffitt took over as Chief Executive.
The Select Committee is trying to establish what went wrong in respect of a massive overspend under that board, and will report back to Tynwald with findings and recommendations.
