Charter fishing workshop this evening

by isleofman.com 24th June 2008
The department of agriculture, fisheries and forestry is developing a charter angling strategy for the Island.

And this evening vessel owners, including fishermen, will be able to find out how it would work.

In a move which co-incides with the department of tourism and leisure's intiative to promote marine tourism, DAFF is encouraging would be participants to provide fishing trips as a realistic business opportunity.

On Mandate this morning DAFF minister Phil Gawne (pictured) said his department had recognised the potential for inland and sea fisheries for some time (audio file attached):

The workshop will be at the Knockaloe farm classroom, on Main Road, Patrick, at 7.30pm.
