Pitched new minimum wage 'about right'

DTI minister David Cretney reckons he 'got it about right' when he suggested a 7.1 per cent increase in the minimum wage, to ?6 an hour.

Leader of the union Unite, Mick Hewer, wanted a bigger rise, but Mr Cretney's proposal, which was supported by Tynwald, was more than the ?5.85 recommended by the minimum wage committee.
