A trouble-free transition

by isleofman.com 20th June 2008
It seems the Island is adapting well to being smoke free.

It's almost three months since the new law was introduced, making it illegal to smoke in any wholly or substantially enclosed work place or public area.

There was controversy before the measure was brought in, with many predicting there would be major problems with people breaking the law and a large decrease in trade for some pubs and clubs.

However DoLGE spokesman Ivan Bratty (pictured) says the transition has been pretty trouble free (audio file attached):

Ivan Bratty was speaking to John Hines on Talkig Heads.
