Peel man jailed for burglary and theft

A 19 year-old man who burgled his step father's locked bedroom and stole cash and a debit card has been jailed for six months by the High Bailiff Michael Moyle.

Jamie William Lenaghan, of Belle Vue Park, Peel admitted burglary and theft between April and May 2007.

His step father lost a total of ?1,118 through the theft of cash and use of the card.

The defendant's advocate said Leneghan was not prepared to accept assistance and a community based sentence.

Mr Moyle said it wasn't the first time Leneghan had preyed on his family.
