EuroManx 'liquidation' row in Tynwald

The legal status of EuroManx on the day the company collapsed was at the centre of an exchange between Onchan MHK Peter Karran and the Attorney General in Tynwald today.

Mr Karran fired a salvo of questions on the airline's collapse.

He wanted to know why the government continued to give financial help to Euromanx without having any security against the loans.

Mr Karran argued Euromanx should face legal penalties for flying its aircraft off-Island on the day it stopped trading.

But in a ping-pong argument, Attorney General John Corlett laboured to explain the company was not in liquidation at the time (audio file attached):
