Government attempts to recover funds

The Treasury Minister says his department is doing all it can to recover over ?1 million of tax payers' money owed by failed airline Euromanx.

Allan Bell was replying to a question from Michael MHK David Cannan in Tynwald today.

The airline ceased trading last month owing ?1.16 million it had been given by the government to prolong its operations until a buyer could be found, a move which was unsuccessful.

Mr Bell told the court he was currently awaiting a response from those handling the firm's liquidation:
