Foreign currency in circulation!

by isleofman.com 17th June 2008
Police want to speak to any member of the public or retailer who has been offered Far Eastern banknotes as payment for goods and services.

It follows the theft of a quantity of Thai bahts and Malaysian Ringgits from a property in Castletown.

United States dollars were also taken, with the total value of the foreign currency being about ?200.

The money was taken some time in the past month and police think the person responsible might have tried to spend it in local shops, or asked retailers to exchange it for sterling.

Anybody with information is asked to ring Castletown police on 82 2222.
