Fire in timber yard

by isleofman.com 17th June 2008
Staff at the government owned Saw Mills at the Hope, St John's have been cleaning up after a large pile of logs was badly damaged by fire last night.

Three crews arrived shortly after 10pm and found 'a serious fire which had taken hold'.

Fire fighters used hoses to bring the blaze under control, and were able to prevent the flames spreading to other piles of logs nearby.

A Fire Services spokesman said he cause of the blaze had been established, and there were no suspicious circumstances.

It took about 20 minutes to bring the fire under control.
