Dogs can be good for you, says DHSS

The Director of Public Health is urging caution when it comes to clamping down on walking dogs in public recreational areas.

Douglas Corporation has recently reaffirmed its hard-line against dog fouling, with a ban on dogs in the town's squares, parks and gardens, and warnings that owners could face stiff fines in the future.

Dr Parameswaran Kishore (pictured) says while he understands the problems caused by some irresponsible owners who don't clean up after their animals, and the possible health risks, there is another side to the argument.
