Minister praises TT effort

The Health Minister has paid tribute to the work of hospital staff during the TT period, when extra capacity has to be made available during what is a very demanding time.

Eddie Teare (pictured) said he and Chief Executive David Killip had visited staff within the ambulance service, accident and emergency departments, theatre and ICU, to thank them for all their hard work.

He said whilst there were fewer accidents on the roads over the last two weeks they had been more serious than in previous years.

He said the system had coped well, thanks to a real team effort:
